Join the Town of Clifton Park Open Space, Trails & Riverfront Committee for a hike of the Town Center Parkland, the 37 acres the Town acquired from Shenendehowa School District. This walk is a great preview of a Public Meeting about the draft park concepts slated for Wed., Sept.18 at the Clifton Park - Halfmoon Public Library (5 to 8:30 p.m.). The town is in the midst of a year-long, public planning process that commenced in January 2019, to analyze the natural conditions of the land, listen to the public, stakeholders, neighbors and the community about ideas for the park, and ultimately to create a park design that reflects the community consensus. If you haven't had a chance to walk this site yet, or if you want to revisit in a different season, this hike is for you! Please know that there are no improvements to the site -- so plan for uneven terrain and natural surfaces. Please meet up at the rear parking lot of the Town's Public Safety Building, off of Maxwell Drive Ext. & NYS Route 146 intersection. Meet up at a few minutes before 1 p.m. for up to a 2-hour hike/stroll. Please RSVP (518) 371-6054.
