Handicapped Parking Permit must be displayed if parked in a Handicapped Space
An expired permit is not valid and cannot be used. An expired permit is not valid and cannot be used. The retention of expired tags for future use is an abuse of the handicapped parking system which hinders effective enforcement of handicapped parking allocated only for operators with valid tags. Expired tags must be surrendered, and their display while parking in handicapped parking will result in the issuance of a violation.
The permit is designed to hang from the rearview mirror when parked but should be removed when the vehicle is being operated. If you lose your permit or it is stolen, immediately report it to the locality that issued the permit.
