SARATOGA COUNTY CLERK CRAIG HAYNER TO ADDRESS CLIFTON PARK ELKS AT FLAG DAY CELEBRATION

BALLSTON LAKE – Saratoga County Clerk Craig Hayner will be the keynote speaker at the Clifton Park Elks 46th Annual Flag Celebration on Friday, June 15, at 6:30 PM at the Lodge located at 695 MacElroy Road in Ballston Lake.

The Order of Elks adopted the practice of celebrating Flag Day before in 1907. Since then, each Elks Lodge has been required to observe Flag Day annually.  The United States Congress formally recognized June 14th as Flag Day in 1949 under President Harry Truman after the Elks had observed the practice many years. The event will honor our nation's colors and celebrate the history of the American Flag.

County Clerk Hayner will join Clifton Park Supervisor Phil Barrett and other area public officials in recognizing Americanism essay contest winners and Elks Scholarship recipients.

The event is open to the public.
