An historic walking tour of the Vischer Ferry Hamlet will take place from 10 a.m. to noon. A Town Awards ceremony will be at 1 p.m. at the Vischer Ferry General Store, at 357 Riverview Road, to recognize Historic Preservation and Open Space accomplishments. Free wagon rides to the Vischer Ferry Preserve will be offered. The event will include a nature scavenger hunt, old-time photos, and community groups will have exhibit tables at the Vischer Ferry Fire Department. A woodworking / preservation demonstration will be held. The Mohawk Antique Auto Club will display their members' antique cars at the Vischer Ferry Fire Department. Town Historian John Scherer will give a history talk at 2 p.m.
Parking is available at the Vischer Ferry General Store, Vischer Ferry Fire Station #1 in designated areas, and other locations around the hamlet.
The Amity Reformed Church in the hamlet will be hosting a community dinner that evening, from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Please stop in at the Vischer Ferry General Store for dinner tickets.
