Try a Street Orienteering Sprint on Thursday, July 20 with the start in Sugarbush Park, the entrance near the intersection of Okemo Court and Pico Road. Register anytime between 5:30 and 6:30 PM. There will be several courses for regular (foot) orienteering and even one, if you prefer, for bike O or roller ski O. All courses are designed so that you can finish in under an hour. We will use classic card punch to keep it simple with map, clue sheet, and punch card on the same sheet. The courses will use the suburban streets and neighborhood trails.
Navigational difficulty will be similar to what one would expect of ski orienteering.
The longest course will be about 4k that will go into Hayes Park and wooded Stony Creek Trails.
For those who have never tried orienteering before there's a nominal entry fee of $3 which covers the cost of your souvenir map. Please contact Eric Hamilton, at 518-371-7548 if you have any questions.
