Public Safety -- Safety Department:

The goal of the Town of Clifton Park Safety Department is to establish and maintain a comprehensive employee and resident safety program:

The Public Safety Officer also monitors workplace activities to ensure that workers comply with town policies and government safety regulations. The duties of this job vary by the Town Board, but the safety officer typically has responsibilities pertaining to safety policy development, safety inspections, safety training and compliance with Federal Occupational Safety & Health Administration/ Personnel Employee Safety Health commonly known as OSHA / PESH and the Town Codes:

  • Safety Regulation and PESH Compliance,
  • Accident / Incident Investigation,
  • Workplace Inspections,
  • Complaint Resolutions,
  • Safety Program Development,
  • Workplace Violence  Program,
  • Active Shooter Program,

Residents:

  • Medical Director For The Towns Summer Camp Programs,
  • Inspections of all Town Ice Arenas, Recreational Parks, Pools, etc.
  • Traffic Control – Speed Radar Signs,
  • Town of Clifton Parks Emergency Plan,
  • Town of Clifton Park July 4th Celebration – Safety Plans,
  • Town Provided Community CPR / AED Courses – 2 per year,

It is the mission of the Town of Clifton Park Safety Department to foster and support a safe work environment for all town municipal employees and residents.
