The Saratoga County Department of Public Health Services today announced the most current stats* on COVID-19 in Saratoga County.
Confirmed cases of COVID-19: 527
Deaths: 17
Recovered cases: 492
Active cases: 19
Hospitalizations: 1
Total tested: 21,602
*Please note that the deaths, recovered cases and active cases, when added together, do not equal the total number of confirmed cases. That is because one of the previously reported deaths happened out of the state, but was never counted as a confirmed case within the county.
Also, the Saratoga County Public Health Services COVID-19 Hotline is now staffed Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Residents can reach a public health specialist at 518-885-2276.
Remain vigilant
Although the spread of COVID-19 has been reduced, we are still finding positive cases within our county population. For Saratoga County to remain open through the phases, we ask for everyone’s cooperation in continuing to practice social distancing and wearing a mask when unable to be six feet from others.
Community health nurses stress that spread is likely when people are within six feet of one another for more than 10 minutes, even if people have masks on. This is because most people aren't wearing the superprotective N95 masks that healthcare professionals wear. The virus can enter through your eyes or on your hands and then touching your own face. That is why frequent handwashing or hand sanitizing is still very important
