The Town has a large and expanding parks and recreational network for everyone to enjoy throughout the year. Many parks are conveniently located within our neighborhoods. Many people are home and the early Spring weather has led to an increased use of our park facilities and trail network. Preserving these vital outlets for recreation and exercise is especially important during this stressful time period.
Together, we can use the park facilities safely by following all CDC guidelines and New York State edicts regarding social distancing. Guidelines such as not congregating in groups and not participating in recreational activities that involve team play. The Town has thousands of acres of public recreational property. Please use discretion when visiting one of our parks.
The same guidelines for social distancing should be followed at home. Children want to be with their friends and as parents it is extremely frustrating that our kids cannot play games or participate in group activities as they normally would under different circumstances.
All local governments have been directed through New York State Executive Orders, to enact significant workforce reductions. Therefore, our Town personnel have a minimal presence throughout Town compared to normal circumstances. We need your help to keep everyone safe and healthy! Thank you for your cooperation and assistance. Working together we will protect our community!
