The Clifton Park Town Board recently announced new and expanded hours at the Town Transfer Station.
The operating hours of the Clifton Park Transfer Station will change beginning April 7, 2020. The facility will open at 7:00 AM three days each week and remain open until 5:30 PM, twice per week. The change in operating hours will provide visitors to the facility a more flexible schedule. In 2019, the Town Board allowed people that do not live in Clifton Park to purchase an annual permit for disposal of household garbage for $150. The out of town permits will also be offered in 2020. The permit renewal period for 2020 will begin soon.
The Transfer Station hosts a plethora of opportunities for recycling, disposal of garbage and waste as well as donations. Several years ago, the Town entered into a unique partnership with Habitat for Humanity (HFH). Donations of acceptable items can be made at the Transfer Station. The donated items are sold by HFH at their Habitat Restore in Albany. The funds derived from the sales are invested in executing the mission of the organization. If you have items you would like to donate, but cannot transport them to the Transfer Station, please contact HFH’s Restore directly. In many circumstances, Restore personnel will pick-up donations at your home.
