Update from Supervisor Barrett on Sitterly Road Bridge
I received correspondence today from the New York State Department of Transportation, with an update on the status of the Sitterly Road Bridge Replacement Project. The new bridge will provide a minimum clearance of 16 feet-6 inches of vertical height above I-87. We are pleased to know there will be wider shoulders as well as a sidewalk on the North side of the bridge. Increased pedestrian access in this area has been a priority as the new improvements in the Sitterly Road Corridor also featured new sidewalks. During the Summer of 2022, Sitterly Road will be closed for approximately two months, for the installation of the new bridge. DOT will complete a large portion of the substructure work, while the existing bridge is in service with minimal impacts to traffic flow.
DOT has established an email address for the project, which is made available for people to share their thoughts and concerns.
