At a recent Town Board meeting, local resident Mizana Parsons-Munir, MA, CASAC an Outreach Coordinator for American Addiction Centers spoke about the importance of treating addiction as soon as possible.
According to American Addictions Center, “Statistics show that when you or your loved one are finally open to seeking addiction treatment, it’s important to take action right away. Waiting even a few hours can be enough time for an addicted person to change their mind, go back to using, or worse. The sooner you reach out, the better your chances of getting help before it’s too late”
Mrs. Parsons-Munir, highlighted that when you or someone you love is ready for treatment, you can contact her directly at 518-944-9836 for a free confidential screening to provide you with the best treatment options. Further information is also available through AmericanAddictionCenters.org
The Town would also like to thank Mrs. Parsons-Munir for speaking directly to Shenendehowa High School students present at the meeting about the dangers of alcohol and substance abuse. Reminding the students that there is no such thing as recreational drug use. If they feel the need to use alcohol or drugs to get them through a stressful time in their lives now would be the time to call her for help before addiction truly destroys their promising future.
